Taken in remand by the police Mr Thomas is accused of answering the quiz questions correctly by chicane. It is there he meets a lady lawyer to whom he recounts his each event with utmost detail which lead him through each question's answer, one by one.
The book is a perfect serve with a pinch of every ingrediant in right amount. Philosophy , comedy, valour, romance, innocence, stardom, roun and loads of others. The book also serves as a glimpse to the atrocities obscured in lifestyle of every strata and the nefarious activities prevalent in society.
The remunerations let you saunter down the memory lane of Mr Thomas and gain a bucolic and luxuriance experience.The 13 questions of the quiz will carry you from the prison dungeons to the 8th wonder of modern world , From the slums of Mumbai to the old city of Agra , From being a servant to an ardent lover and most importantly the journey from a loner to a winner.
To me it feels like reading a club of short stories whose protogonist is the same with just the difference in their ages. I personally like the shift in the approach , perception and thought process of the protagonist from a child to a mature person and also from his naive to developed thought structure. Although the movie Slumdog Millionaire based on the novel has been a great success but somehow the inner voice text that trails down the pages of the book allure much more than that of the movie gestures (that's what called the book lover vibes!) . And these lines just imbibed deep.
" Unheralded we came into this world. Unheralded we will go out. But while we are in this world , we do such deeds that even if this generation does not remember, the next generation cannot forget. "
The book is crammed with paradoxes , the major one being a billionaire forming out of a waiter . The others stand under the veil of this panoramic novel. So get set to have a roller coaster ride through the chapters and do not forget to share your experiences too.
